生物化学/生理学行为
头孢噻肟通过与青霉素结合蛋白 (PBPs) 结合来抑制细菌细胞壁合成，PBP 抑制细菌细胞壁中肽聚糖合成的最终转肽步骤。 结果，细菌因细胞壁自溶酶而裂解。
头孢噻肟是一种头孢菌素抗生素，对革兰氏阴性菌和革兰氏阳性菌均有活性。 此外，头孢噻肟阻断蓝藻和低等植物细胞器/质体的分裂，如蓝藻的光合细胞器和苔藓植物的叶绿体。
